Drilling score
Drilling score is based on the time taken to drill 10 holes with a 13mm spade bit through 45mm hardwood (spotted gum). The faster the time, the better the score.

Torque score
The torque test score is based on screwing TEK screws of two different sizes (14G 50mm and 14G 75mm, 25 of each) into treated pine. The more screws screwed in (fully flush with the wood), the higher the score.

Chuck capacity (mm)
The maximum diameter drill bit the chuck can take. 10mm is enough for most basic drilling jobs but 13mm naturally allows for larger bits. All tested models have keyless chucks (the chuck can be loosened and tightened by hand).
Carry case
Whether the drill comes with a hard or soft carry case. A hard case will protect the drill, battery and accessories, but is heavier and bulkier.
